Link Party Time! - And A Contest!

Welcome to yet another Tools Are For Women Too link party. This time I am adding a contest to the party, for a little added fun!

In the past week I bought a 6 qt crock pot and have been fooling around with some recipes.  I would like to make something special in it on Super Bowl Sunday.

Here are the really easy contest rules......

1.)  In the comment section, give me your best crock pot recipe.

2.)  Enter as much as you want.  No limit.

3.)  Whose ever recipe I fix on Super Bowl Sunday will be the winner of the contest.

4.)  I suppose since it's a contest I should have a prize of some kind too, huh?  How about one of my handmade pens?  I don't have a particular one in mind, but below are a couple sample pics of ones I have made in he past.

Here is a close-up of one.

So let's see those recipes!  Time is running short!

Now for the Link Party Rules.........

1.)  Please become a follower if you are not one already.

2.)  Do me a favor and promote the contest.  I'm hungry.

3.)  Link back to the party somehow. However you do it is fine.  Taking out an ad for the party on The View will not get you extra consideration for your contest entry, but I might send you a pen anyway.  Give it a shot.

4.)  No limit on the number of links you can post.  Feel free.

5.)  You can post tutorials, blog buttons, Etsy store items, or pretty much whatever you want.  If I am anything,  I'm easy.  Have some fun with it!

Hi Rory,
Hmmmm, crock pot recipe suitable for a Super Bowl Party? Sometimes I make homemade meatballs (no recipe, just a glorified basic meatloaf with some spicy sausage shaped into balls)for parties. I cook them off in the oven, so they hold together, then throw them in the crock pot with chili sauce and some grape jelly and some pepper jelly. Serve with cocktail forks or toothpicks, and a little bleu cheese dressing. Don't try to cheat and use meatballs from the freezer section of the grocery store -- nobody will eat them.

Thanks for hosting the link-up!

Hi Rory! Thanks for hosting the party! Believe it or not, we're not big football fans here, so no superbowl recipe to offer! Your pens are beautiful though...makes me wish I did have one! :-)
Have an awesome week!

Are you serious! My hubby made the most AMAZING delicious, incredible crock pot roast today. AND we have decided to make it on Superbowl Sunday as well!!! I'm not even sure what to called it except it's just PURE deliciousness with a splash of Mexican flavor!

1 roast (any kind works)
1 can ELPATO sauce (that right there is the sauce of ALL sauces)
1 can tomato sauce
1 bag frozen mire-poix mix of veggies (chopped onions, celery, carrots if you can't find that mix)
season salt
small jar of sliced jalapenos (omit if you don't want it too spicy)
2 cans beef broth

rub your roast with season salt
brown all the edges
place in crock pot with broth, veggies, elpato and tomato sauce. cook on low for about 4-6 hours. Drain jalps and chopped up a bit and add to the pot for the last 30 min. Once it's nice and tender shred the meat and add it back in the pot. We had ours over rice with sliced baguette bread. Would be GREAT in a sub sandwich or in a baked potato too! :)

I can't wait to see what recipes you get. I was looking for a crock pot recipe this past week and didn't find anything that really stood out so I improvised and made my own simple recipe.

I made BBQ chicken sandwiches for lunch when I had my sisters over to decorate cookies.

I boiled a 2.5 # bag of chicken tenderloins. Cooled them a bit then shredded them. I put in crockpot with a bottle and a half of Kraft Honey BBQ sauce on low for 3 hours. Perfect, everyone raved about it.

This is a recipe you should try in your crockpot...at least someday if not for Superbowl Sunday!!

New York Style..Buffalo Chicken Soup

Ingredients:
1 large onion, chopped
2-3 stalks celery, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup beer (you can omit this if you like...just add more chicken broth in place of it.)
1/2 cup hot wing sauce (more, if you like it hot...less if you don't)
1-1½ lbs of boneless and skinless chicken breasts
8 oz cream cheese...room temp
1/4 tsp cayenne (I always add a little more...add to your taste.)

Garnishes.... sour cream... blue cheese...cheddar cheese....celery... ranch dressing..let your imagination take over at this point.

Directions...

Saute the onion and garlic for 7-10 minutes until translucent.
Add flour to vegetables and cook for2-3 minutes. Add the milk and broth and stir.
Now put this in your crock pot. Add the rest of the ingredients.
Cook for several hours on high in the crock pot. Stir every hour or so.... to make sure the cheese melts evenly.
Before you serve this... pull the chicken breasts out of the pot and shred 'em and place 'em back in the pot.
Have your garnishes ready and let everyone add what they like to their bowls.

Enjoy!!
