Great Craftswoman Of The Week - Chantelle from Thousand Square Feet

Please meet Chantelle from Thousand Square Feet. She is my pick for Craftswoman Of The Week.

This very special lady is from Manitoba. She lives in a thousand square foot home with her husband and 5 kids. Yet, she still somehow finds time to be a mom, a wife and put on a tool belt to make adirondack chairs. Pretty incredible. My hardhat is off to her.

Here she is with her power mitre saw, tool belt, speed square and hearing protection, hard at work.

And here Chantelle is again putting a few screws into an adirondack chair, with her cordless drill. Gotta love it!

The finished product. This is really, very neatly done. Nice job Chantelle!

4 smiling faces!

Read the full story about Chantelle over at her blog, Thousand Square Feet. Here is the addy.

When you visit Chantelle, please remember to congratulate her on being the Tools Are For Women Too,

Great Craftswoman Of The Week.

Way to go Chantelle!

Great Craftswoman Of The Week - Katie from A Chirp In The Forest

Time to announce another Great Craftswoman Of The Week. This time the honor goes to Katie from A Chirp In The Forest. Katie describes herself as a "small town girl at heart". She loves decorating. She and her husband of 2 years just bought a home about 6 months ago and it sounds like she is really having some fun with it.

Katie posted her headboard project on Modern Craftswoman Monday, and I was floored by it. This is a lady who was able to use her vision and a few raw materials to make something beautiful for that new home of hers.

This is a picture of her room before.

Here is the room after she installed the headboard that she made with her own 2 hands!

Isn't it fantastic?

Katie gives a step-by-step breakdown of how she did it on her blog. Here is her link to read the full post.

Congratulations Katie on being my latest Great Craftswoman Of The Week!

Great Craftswoman Of The Week - From Re-Vamped French Maison

This weeks Great Craftswoman Of The Week is from Re-Vamped French Maison. She hails from Alaska and specializes in home design. Her tastes are French and Old World, and she especially likes art and design from the 17th and 18th centuries.

Her blog is fresh, clean, and inviting.

Here is a picture of a mirror from her site that I really liked.

She recently undated her cabinets by adding some molding. The result is pretty amazing.

What used to be plain and simple, she managed to turn into elegant and beautiful. As a professional woodworker, I am pretty impressed by the way she was able to pull this off. The before pics are on her site, and it is well worth the time to drop by and see the difference. She also offers instructions and help on how to do this in your kitchen, as well.

Congratulations goes to Re-Vamped French Maison, my pick for the Tools Are For Women Too!,

Great Craftswoman Of The Week.

Please drop by and see her. Here is the link....

Great Craftswoman Of The Week - Laura Ingalls Gunn

Laura Ingalls Gunn is an interior designer and writes the blog Decor To Adore. She recently posted in my Modern Craftswoman Monday link party, a story about her 23 year old DIY project. It is truly inspiring and every hard working craftswoman should read it.

Life was not easy for her growing up. She was orphaned at an early age and had to overcome more obstacles than a young girl should ever have to face. But now, after 23 years of working towards her goal, Laura's success story will surely inspire you.

Her tale will take you from losing her parents, to castles in Europe, and back again to the United States where she finally realizes her 23 year old dream....

...her graduation ceremony where she was awarded a degree in interior design.

Expect great things from this wonderful lady.
Please visit her site and become one of her followers at:

Congratulations to Laura Ingalls Dunn on reaching her 23 year old dream. You are my pick for the Great Craftswoman Of The Week.

Great Craftswoman Of The Week - Cierra's Tattered Elegance

A blog you need to visit... Cierra's Tattered Elegance. I really love this one. From the moment I logged onto her site I felt I was in a warm inviting place. This is a fairly new blog and I would expect this site to grow rather quickly. Great photos, nice music, and well put together.

Cierra describes herself as a 22-year old, who loves shabby chic, and author Rachel Ashwell. Her blog reflects it. She hopes to own her own shop someday.

Cierra was kind enough to join my Modern Craftswoman Monday link party. She entered her wonderful garden chairs pictured below.

As terrific as these chairs are, she has other equally great stuff on her site. Here is her link.

Great Craftswomen Feature Friday - Gracefully Vintage

Welcome to Great Craftswomen Feature Friday. Today's post is about a very talented lady named Karyann, who writes a blog called Gracefully Vintage. She was kind enough to show off her talents a little bit at my first Modern Craftswoman Monday link party.
I have to tell you. I really loved her entry. Not many people have the kind of eye and creativity it took to come up with this project, but Karryann is a very special craftswoman.

She somehow managed to turn an old table into this "princess style" dog bed. How cool is that? And on her site she tells you step by step how she did it, with great before and after photos. Karryann has some other great stuff on her blog, as well as an Etsy store, but I want you to go see it for yourself. Here is her link. http://gracefullyvintage.blogspot.com/
Congratulations Karryann on being my Feature Friday Great Craftswoman Of The Week!

Great Craftswomen: Featuring I'm Topsy Turvy

This feature post is about a very creative craftswoman by the name of Ashlee from I'm Topsy Turvy. She was kind enough to join my Modern Craftswoman Monday Link Party and I am soooo glad she did. I feel very lucky that we crossed paths. Her work and creativity blew me away! Here is a picture of her entry at the the link party...

It is a Cat In The Hat Birthday Cake that she made for this beautiful 3 year old girl. Pretty amazing, huh? Ashlee's creativity didn't stop there. She custom made alllllll kinds of things for this little girl's big event. Even the water bottles and plates were customized for this party. You have to see it to believe it!

Ashlee, congratulations on all your fine work. It wore me out just looking at it, knowing how much effort you put into it. I can't wait to see what you will do when she turns 4! Thank you for being a part of Modern Craftswoman Monday.

Here is Ashlee's link http://imtopsyturvy.blogspot.com/2010/04/dr-seuss-3rd-birthday-party.html Please go see her to read her full post.

Great Craftswomen - Feature Friday #1

All Thingz Related is just one of many great blogs I had the chance to visit this week. It is written by 2 best friends, Bridgette and Rebekah, who live 700 miles apart. It says in their profile that their energy is fueled by drinking Dr. Pepper. Gotta love it! When I went to visit their site I was really impressed with their Magnetic Calendar and Chore Chart. It is too cute for words. You need to go over there and see it. They have step by step pictures, so you can make your own. They also do a link party on Tuesdays called Anything Related.

Here is their link.... http://allthingzrelated.blogspot.com/ Please let them know that Tools Are For Women Too! sent you.
